Purpose of Your Work:

As an Inventory & Quality Control Specialist working within Distribution (one of our entities), you will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and product quality across all warehouse operations. This role ensures that all inbound, storage, and outbound activities comply with established procedures, with a focus on reducing discrepancies, maintaining traceability, and improving customer satisfaction. This position will own the cycle count program, investigate variances, and lead root-cause analysis for inventory and quality issues across a 23,000-SKU environment.

How You Make a Difference Everyday:

Inventory Control:

  • Maintain and reconcile accurate on-hand inventory records across ~23,000 active SKUs.
  • Develop and manage the cycle count schedule (ABC-based or location-based).
  • Conduct, validate, and document daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts.
  • Research and resolve inventory variances, identifying root causes (receiving errors, mis-picks, unrecorded adjustments, etc.).
  • Coordinate with Receiving, Picking, and Shipping teams to ensure real-time transaction accuracy.
  • Maintain location master data — ensuring clear labeling, bin location integrity, and space utilization.
  • Support month-end and year-end physical inventory events.
  • Track and report inventory accuracy KPIs (e.g., 99.5% target, adjustment trends, shrink %).

Quality Control:

  • Inspect inbound product for damage, labeling accuracy, and specification compliance.
  • Audit outbound shipments for correct SKU, quantity, and condition before release.
  • Document and report non-conformances and drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update quality inspection records and defect logs.
  • Support customer complaint investigations related to product quality or fulfillment errors.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, lot traceability, and product handling standards.

Process & System Management:

  • Prepare and distribute weekly/monthly inventory and quality reports to leadership.
  • Track KPIs such as: Inventory Accuracy, Cycle Count Compliance, Adjustment Volume & Cause, Returns/Damage Rate, and On-Time & Error-Free Shipments.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions based on data trends.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and distribute weekly/monthly inventory and quality reports to leadership.
  • Track KPIs such as: Inventory Accuracy, Cycle Count Compliance, Adjustment Volume & Cause, Returns/Damage Rate, and On-Time & Error-Free Shipments.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions based on data trends.

Performance Metrics:

  • Inventory Accuracy = 99.5%
  • Cycle Count Completion Rate = 95%
  • Quality Defect Rate = 0.25%
  • Root Cause Closure Rate within 5 business days

You’ve Got This?

  • Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years in inventory control, quality assurance, or warehouse operations; experience managing large SKU counts (10,000+ preferred).
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; high attention to detail; proficient in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, data validation); strong communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical counts for extended periods.
  • Lift or move up to 40 lbs as needed.
  • Operate barcode scanners, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Work in warehouse environment (ambient)

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time and onsite Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 3PM with an hour break, but flexibility is available based on coverage.

Compensation Range:

Salary Range:

$27.00/hr to $31.00/hr

This position is eligible to earn annual incentives based on individual and company performance.

The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the geographical location in which the applicant lives and/or which they will be performing the job.
