Purpose of Your Work:
As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer (GenAI and Automation) working within Shared Services (one of our entities), you will be responsible for developing tech-forward solutions to drive automation and informed decision-making within our business. You will delve into unique and complex issues within the logistics space and partner with cross-functional teams across business, technology, and product to ideate, develop, recommend, and implement solutions. You will leverage your skill set in machine learning, automation, and GenAI to build various models and infrastructure delivering results and communications actional insights.
How You Make a Difference Everyday:
- Develop and implement automation solutions that leverage statistics, machine learning, and Gen AI technologies within Redwood, impacting key metrics and streamlining network operations.
- Identify new opportunities to drive business impact through data exploration and collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Develop and optimize our agentic ML framework for speed, reliability, and observability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, business stakeholders, and product teams, to gather inputs, assumptions, and understand business processes along the way.
You’ve Got This?
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience applying Machine Learning/MLOps to solve business problems.
- 2+ years of experience in applying GenAI (e.g., LLMs/ Multi-Modal) or GenAI-related concepts (language modeling) to business settings.
- Proficient in leveraging Azure or AWS to deploy scalable machine learning algorithms into production.
- Demonstrated ability in establishing and tracking meaningful metrics for ML system performance and reliability.
- Hands-on experience with open-source languages and tooling for large-scale ML (e.g., Ray, Flink, Feast).
- Experience working with Data Warehouses and ETL pipelines (e.g., Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow).
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders is a plus
- Three years of experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or a similar space is a plus.

Work Schedule:
This position is full-time and remote Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour break, but flexibility is available based on coverage.
Compensation Range:
Salary Range:
$160,000 - $220,000
This position is eligible to earn annual incentives based on individual and company performance.
The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the geographical location in which the applicant lives and/or which they will be performing the job.
