Position Description:

As Director – Strategic Sales within the MOVE sales team, you will be responsible for achieving sales targets to meet planned objectives and develop strategic sales strategies to align with company goals. A key function of the position is to promote the overall Redwood MOVE solutions while sponsoring the growth of the overall enterprise strategic sales opportunities, while maintaining high customer satisfaction. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell Redwood’s Multi-Modal (MOVE) suite of services including (FTL, LTL, Parcel, Intermodal, Flatbed, Reefer) along with our outsourced freight management solutions and Redwood’s Platform Service to current and potential clients
  • Ability to HUNT for new leads. Leads will be given…but ability to Hunt is a Plus.
  • Ability to leverage industry and Redwood data points to create value statements
  • Build a qualified pipeline focused on goal-oriented sales and new logo growth
  • Make sales calls to current and potential customers, focusing on Redwood’s MOVE products   
  • Effectively manage transportation RFP’s throughout the entire sales cycle, communicating both internally and externally with key stakeholders
  • Consult with the customer to offer various solutions that will solve current supply chain challenges while enabling future scale
  • Understand customer requirements and scope to qualify potential opportunities
  • Identify potential customer roadblocks and implement solutions that allow you to navigate pure price shoppers
  • Work internally and externally to strategically solve the potential challenges
  • Develop and present customer facing presentations across all Redwood service lines
  • Collect requirements for, manage, and facilitate customer presentations
  • Effectively transition customer solutions from the sales cycle to the appropriate delivery teams
  • Participate in QBR’s and continuous improvement feedback loops with the customer to drive organic growth within the current book of business
  • Recommend sales strategies for improvements based on MOVE market research and competitor analysis
  • Maintain strategic customer and Redwood partner relationships
  • Manage a multiple channel selling strategies
  • Report on department activity as requested
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated sales experience focused on LTL, FTL Brokerage and/or Outsourced Managed Services
  • Minimum 5 years experience in strategic selling into multiple transportation service offerings
  • Proficient with multi-modal capacity solutions; ability to articulate value and ROI drivers to prospective customers
  • Strong negotiation, communication, analysis, and networking skills from C-level to end user
  • Significant industry / shipper contacts
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to business need and/or industry changes
  • Strategic thinker
  • Travel up to 50%
