Purpose of Your Work:

As a Senior Director of LTL Pricing and Procurement working within Managed Services (one of our entities), you will be responsible for leading our pricing strategy, carrier negotiations, and procurement processes for our LTL services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in LTL transportation rating practices and processes, data-driven decision-making skills, and the ability to develop strategic relationships with carriers to optimize cost and service levels.

How You Make a Difference Everyday:

LTL Pricing Strategy & Optimization

  • Develop and implement LTL pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
  • Analyze freight costs, market trends, and industry benchmarks to adjust pricing models accordingly.
  • Manage customer pricing proposals, ensuring alignment with company objectives and margin expectations.
  • Utilize data analytics to assess lane performance, customer profitability, and cost structures.

Carrier Procurement & Relationship Management

  • Lead carrier negotiations to secure competitive rates and service levels for LTL transportation.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with national and regional LTL carriers.
  • Monitor carrier performance and compliance, ensuring on-time delivery, service quality, and cost control.
  • Evaluate carrier networks to identify opportunities for consolidation, savings, and improved service.

Process Improvement & Technology Integration

  • Leverage transportation management systems (TMS) and other technologies to streamline pricing and procurement operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Operations, Finance) to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.

Market Analysis & Reporting

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics affecting LTL pricing and capacity.
  • Prepare and present reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Provide insights on LTL industry trends to help shape the company’s strategic direction.

You’ve Got This?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in LTL pricing, procurement, or carrier relations in the logistics industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing competitive LTL rates.
  • Deep understanding of LTL carrier networks, tariffs, and pricing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in TMS software, Excel, and data analytics tools.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time and remote Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour break, but flexibility is available based on coverage.

Compensation Range:

$127,000 - $147,000

This position is eligible to earn annual incentives based on individual and company performance.

The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the geographical location in which the applicant lives and/or which they will be performing the job.
