Pricing & Yield Intern

Reports To: Vice President - Pricing And Yield Management

Location: Elston Office

Environment: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)

Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Purpose of Your Work:

As a Pricing & Yield Intern working within the Redwood Brokerage, you will be responsible for increasing the accuracy and reliability of our contract pricing database through interactions with Pricing & Yield Management and Data Science teams.

How You Make a Difference Everyday:

  • Create reports for various stakeholders within the organization for ongoing RFPs and customer freight health
  • Perform audits of RFP database against moving volume for customers and update database to enhance reporting accuracy
  • Prepare internal strategy call documents and help coordinate additional internal calls
  • Take notes during RFP event calls both internal and external
  • Cleanse data into standardized internal formats for pricing
  • Assist with additional Ad-Hoc projects as needed
  • Learn the nuances of a broker's role within a shipper's supply chain network
  • Learn how customer RFPs generate value for both shippers and carriers in the long term
  • Learn the general lifecycle for loads moving within a brokerage

You’ve Got This?

  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and nested formulas required
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly to changing needs/timelines while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Python preferred
  • Experience with database management
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
  • Completing BS/BA degree in economics, business, mathematics or related discipline

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time and hybrid Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour break, but flexibility is available based on coverage.

Compensation Range:

$20 per hour

The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the geographical location in which the applicant lives and/or which they will be performing the job.
